Once upon a time, there was a lowly seed that no one paid much attention to given how small and insignificant it was in the grand scheme of things. Thus, gripped by a sense of inferiority, the lowly seed placed no real importance to his own existence.
Then one day, a gushing wind blew right past him picking him up as it did - randomly or otherwise he couldn't really be sure - and threw him mercilessly upon an open field - right under the sweltering sun. The poor seed was quite confused at this. Why would anything do such a terrible thing? But instead of an all knowing answer, he was provided with rain (as well as sunlight); sometimes in drizzles and sometimes in torrents.
In the meantime time flew quickly by with days turning quickly into years. Until, one day just like any other, a traveler sat down beside him. As he did, he said out loud: "Thank you God for this blessing. I really needed some rest and shelter from this searing heat."
Surprised he asked the lone traveler: "What are you talking about?" All the while thinking that the man was simply making fun of him. Sure, he had witnessed many people sitting by his side - more so in recent years he had to admit - but this was the first time someone had spoken to him in such a way.
"Who is this?" The man asked startled and more than a little surprised.
"It's me. A lowly seed."
"A lowly seed?" The man asked eyeing the giant tree up and down. "Are you kidding me? You are no lowly seed. You are a goliath of a tree!"
"Really?"
"Yes! Why else do you think people come and sit under your giant branches?"
"My giant branches?" asked the lowly seed in surprise.
"Yes, don't tell me you hadn't realized you had grown (massively) over time."
A silent moment passed before the traveler's words struck a chord deep within the heart of the seed. As it did, the seed happily smiled possibly for the first time in it's life. The years of relentless tortures by the sun and the rain now at last made sense to him.
"He was never destined to die unnoticed - he was always intended to bring shelter, relief and a safe place to sit for anyone in need of some respite."
NEVER lose sight of the destination. You are not where you currently are at at the moment, but where you're ultimately going to arrive at that matters most in life. The searing sun and seeming tribulations are exactly what's needed to mold you into that massive tree. Keep that in mind the next time you feel inferior, insignificant or unworthy.
