I am the boy who never finished high school because I got called a fag everyday and I'm NOT even Gay!!!

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

I am not one of the lucky ones.  I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school.  It was simply too much for me to take any longer than I had already endured!

I am the mother that is not even allowed to visit the children I bore, raised and nursed.  The court says I'm an unfit mother because I live with another woman.

I am the domestic violence survivor who found that the support system grows suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner was another woman.

I am the boy tied to a fence, beaten to a pulp and left to die because two straight men wanted to teach me a lesson.

I am the person that is too ashamed and afraid to tell even my closest friends that I am Gay.  The way they constantly belittle and make fun of something they don't understand makes absolutely no sense to me.  Plus it hurts to the point that my heart feels as if it is painfully breaking in two.

I am the man who stopped attending church.  Not because I don't believe, but because I was made to feel unwelcome in the house of God by the people there that judged me wrongly and unkindly.

We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time - and sadly before we knew who she really was!

I am the man that was disowned by his own family to avoid bringing shame to their GOOD name.  Asked to slit his own throat and never to come back home again.  Yet still I love them all UNCONDITIONALLY!

I am the person that needs to hide what this world needs most - LOVE!
